A special aspect of the theater is that it dates back to the year 1945 when it was a movie theater. This movie theater was closed in the 1970s, but after restorations at the end of the 20th century, the theater opened again as a live music venue.

The Dale F. Halton Theater is a performing arts theater that belongs to the Central Piedmont Community College.

The performances are very good and the acoustics of the theater are perfect too.

Moreover, the theater has a beautiful and elegant interior, and the theater has an intimate atmosphere despite being very large.
What’s great is that you can enjoy a lot of different performances and events at the theater. For example, sometimes there are Broadway shows, operas, concerts, and lectures at this theater.

The theaters are great to check out if you’re looking for things to do in Charlotte with kids. That’s because the Children’s Theatre of Charlotte performs here. Throughout the year, there are many kinds of performances by this company.
Also, what’s nice is that there are other types of events.
For example, there are film series.
What’s nice about the theaters is that they are very small and intimate. One of the theaters, the McColl Family Theatre, has 570 seats, and the other one, the Wells Fargo Playhouse, has 250 seats.
Besides being a great place for kids to see a show, this place is also great because of the Spangler Children’s Library that is located at ImaginOn.
This library has a collection of all kinds of books for children of many ages.

The Ovens Auditorium is a historic venue that is more than 65 years old. Since the creation of the theater in 1955, many performances have taken place here.
