This protest, which took place on February 1, 1960, was the start of the Greensboro sit-ins at a whites-only lunch counter and was started by four students from the North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.

Nowadays, it is a historic house museum that is open to the public. A great thing to do in Greensboro is to go there and to do a docent-led tour of the building during which you visit various rooms of the building while learning about the house.
